Few designers have criss-crossed the design industry quite like designer, Phoebe Howard. From retail businesses to client work, product development to publishing books, her admirable career is truly storied. She is, to say the least, the gold standard of Southern Design.
Widely lauded in print and online, her breadth of work is some of the best in the industry. Beautifully appointed rooms, the finest furniture choices and custom upholstery, every detail accounted for in ever room.
Phoebe Howard is what one would call a natural talent. Here eye for merchandising and design was originally showcased in her store, Mrs. Howard, in Jackson Florida. Phoebe and her husband, also an architectural and decorating talent, hoped to demystify the decorating process for their customers. The shop was a well-rounded mix of furniture, antiques and accessories, and an instant success.
Over the years, Phoebe’s penchant for creating stylish spaces has evolved into her own brand of decorating; southern traditional, but keep it fresh and always "keep it pretty." Some of our favorite rooms she has done are her transitional indoor outdoor rooms and her use of pink in just about any room in the house.

Over the years she has created a custom line of pillows, lamps, mirrors and casegoods; a furniture collection called Mr. and Mrs. Howard for Sherrill Furniture, which is available in her stores as well as retailers nationwide. The Howards have Mrs. Howard and Max & Company stores in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
